The structure, which is located in Ali Pasa Street, close to Mardin Door, was built between the years of 1887-1888 by Cemil Pasha, who has been governor of Yemen for 23 years. Covering a pretty large area, the mansion is formed or harem and sections reserved for men. The whole of section reserved for men and east side of the seraglio section were organized with two floors.  Cemil Pasha Mansion, which is under restoration of common project of Dıyarbakir Government and Dıyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, will be transformed into a city museum after the restoration.
